On Monday 5th December, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we just did our blog which we wrote what we did in the week before. Then we finished off our Barriers of Communication, which is basically talking about the barriers that effect the communication that is in the workplace. Then we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we carried on with our Coding Methods, then in the afternoon I had GCSE Maths.
On Tuesday 6th December, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we carried on with our assignments, which was assignment 6 and 7. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we just finished off our Absolute Cell Reference, and got up to date with our screenshots of the spreadsheet.
On Wednesday 7th December, we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we just finished off our coding methods, and also started on what makes good quality coding. Then we had Tom for business, in this lesson I finished off the Tall Structures and then started on Task 3, which is the Code of Conduct. Then it was the end of the day.
On Thursday 8th December, we had Tom for Networking, in this lesson I finished off the huge PowerPoint about Electronic Communications. Then we started on making our own network, which was on the internet. Then we had Waqas for Website Design, in this lesson we started on our assignment, this was the story board for the website, which basically gives an idea of what the website might look like. Then we had Games Design which we just carried on with our GDD (Games Design Document).
On Friday 9th December, I was supposed to go into Maths, but I didn't feel well and I stayed off.

28th November to 2nd December
On Monday 28th November, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we finished our blog which we always do each week. Then we carried on with barriers of communication, which we talked about the physical and emotional barriers. Then I had Paul for programming, in this lesson we started on our new task, which was Task 6, this is called Coding Methods, and we learnt about the different methods of coding that can be used in VB. Then I had Maths at 2:15, in this lesson we just learnt about algebra.
On Tuesday 29th November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we just carried on with our main assignment, which was task 6, this is because justifying why I have chosen the components for the office computer. Then after Waqas we had Spreadsheets, but in this lesson we did our Unit 1, which is Comms without the tutor, so we just catch up on work. Then we finish at 12:15 so we just went home.

Then we had a three free break, which I did some work in VB, then we had Tom for Business, in this lesson we learnt about the business structures, which was called Tall Structures and Small Structures. 21st - 24th November Week in College
Monday 21st November, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we did our blog for what we did in the last lesson of college. In this I told what lesson we had and what we actually did. Then we learnt about the barriers that are in communication, like the physical barriers for disabilities, emotional barriers for feelings etc. Then we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we just carried on with our games in programming.
On Tuesday 22nd November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we just carried on with our assignments to get ideas and how much would it cost to build a office computer. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we learnt about the absolute cell reference, and then we put the command buttons in place to link the sheets, and to link the user form so people can actually use the form to add artists to the spreadsheet. At home I started on my Visual Basic games, in this I did Pong and I started on Brick Breaker.
On Wednesday 23rd November, we had Paul for programming, in this lesson we carried on with Pong, the game that we where creating in visual basic, in this lesson I also finished on my Brick Breaker, and got it fully working, I just need to add a scoreboard to the game. Then we had Tom for Business, in this lesson we just carried on with task 3, which was the code of practice, and then the laws and acts for business. This is the lesson which I caught up with all of the work which was due in for Tom.
On Thursday 24th November, we had Networking with Tom, in this lesson we had a huge PowerPoint, which was on electronic communication. In this we learnt about how many different mobile devices, including Infrared and Satellite communication. Then we had Waqas for Website Design, in this lesson we just carried on with our practice websites, which where we had to see what Deamweaver is capable of. Then we had Paul for Games Design, in this lesson we had to finish off our Mood Boards, which are basically pictures and images for what our games are going to be like, we also finished off the overview of the game. Also we watched a DVD on getting into games.

Last Week in College
On Monday 14th November, we had Tom for Communications, in this lesson we had to do our blog which included all of the things that we did in the week before. Also we had to carry on with Lucy's story, this is where we had to analyse the communication that was in Lucy's story. Also we had Paul for Programming,, in this lesson we learnt about how to put a ball into VB, also we talked about how to improve our games, this just gave us more time to make the game better.
On Tuesday 15th November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we started our new assignment, which was task 5. In this task we learnt how to build the computer and what to buy for the computer for an office user. I just carried on with task 4. Also we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we just did our user form, for the assignment. In this we learnt about the coding in Excel.
On Wednesday 16th November, we had Paul for programming, in this lesson we learnt how to make an object move, using the keys. I already knew this, so I just carried on making a new game, which was Space Invaders. This is one of my favorite lessons on this course. Then we had Tom for Business, in this lesson we did task three, which was the laws/acts and the code of conduct. In this lesson I just carried on with my task 2 then I started to do task 3. Business is the one I hate the most, this is why I left my last college due to business.

Last Week in College
Monday 31st October, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we did our Blog, then we caught up on work, doing What Employers Want. Then we had Paul for Programming, this is where we learnt more about Event Driven Languages, for our task for Programming. We learnt about the loops and event handlers in the Event Driven Programming.
On Tuesday 1st November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we carried on with our assignments, which in I finished task 1 and started on task 2. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, this is the lesson we started our assignment. In this lesson we learnt about conditional formatting and then we did nested if functions to find out about the artists downloads.
On Wednesday 2nd November, we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we learnt how to move a ball within a programme, this was basically the game Pong in the early days of games development. In Paul's lesson we also learnt how to do a random number generator, this is where the ball, if it hits any part of the barriers, then it will allow the ball to bounce in a random order, so the ball isn't predictable. We had Tom for Business, in this lesson we had to catch up on work, this is where I finished my D1, the improvements to KFSC, and finishing off task one.

Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, this is where we did MiTunes, which where we had to organise songs to the right artist, we also had to put comments in every cell to describe why the music record companies only allow to have no more then 25,000.

On Tuesday 27th we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we learnt about where all the components go inside the computer, then we talked about the different types of Operating systems that are available to us. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, this is where we learnt about what is a spreadsheet, then we learnt about the different things inside the spreadsheet, what can it do etc. Then we also did the trends, patterns and decision making.
On Wednesday the 28th September, we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we did a test sort of thing for Paul, where we had to design a programme that had a store name, store age and display that if your under age then you will see if their old enough. Then we had Tom for Business, in this we learnt about the DFD, which stands for Data Flow Diagram, this is where a business will need to do when they want to plan what type of information is being passed through the company and how it is being passed. We did two examples at first then we started on the real DFD.

Second Week In College
On Monday 12th September, we had our first Moday lessons in Hyde. We had Paul for Programming, this is where we did our first ever proper programming. We was in Visual Basic, this is where we had to arrange our buttons and text boxes to say something to us.
On Tuesday 13th September, we had Waqas, the new teacher who took over Kerian. We had hardware which we learned about the different components of computers. We had Tom also, we did Spreadsheets, we learnt about the NESTED_IFFUNCTION, whcih allows you to take the IF_FUNCTION bigger and expand it to more areas, also if you update the figures that has the Nested If Fuction then it will update automatically.

Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we learnt about Pivot Tables, by this we imported a text document into a Pivot Table, we also did Data Validation, and the protection we also did the IF, OR, AND. It wasn't the best lesson in the world.
On Wednesday we had Paul for programming, this is where we learnt a bit more about Visual Basic, this is where we did a bit more information on the different languages on VB, we did a message to the computer, we said about how to save your name and display it on a seperate text box. We also had Tom for Data Communications, in this lesson we analyised the different types of forms that a business use.
On Thursday we had Tom for Networking, where we learnt about the Bus Tipology and the Ring Tipology, this is where we finished off our work from the pervisous lesson, this wasn't the best lesson in the world. Also we had Waqas for Website Design we learnt about the proceedure of how a website is shown onto the computer screen, this is where we did a flowchart demostrating how to do it. We also learnt about the download speeds and different ISP (Internet Service Provider). Then we did Games Design which we went through the assignment and then we went home early.

Last Week In College
Last week I started a new college, Hyde Claradon Sixth Form College. Previously I went to a different college, Ashton Sixth Form College, which was on a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Management which I didn’t enjoy but decided to stay the year. Last week I started my new course which is a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT Software and Development, I am on this course because I want to become a Games Designer and this course will help me through to get that.
Last week, which was on the 6th September, I started off with Computer Systems, which we didn’t really do anything all we did was doing tests etc. The lesson after that we did Advanced Spreadsheets, where we learned how to do the ‘IF_FUNCTION’ and how to do the sums within Spreadsheets, these are the simple tools with Excel.
On Wednesday 7th September, we did Programming, on this unit we had to do some of the process of programming, what we did was, we had a robot and we had to make the robot to be programmed to make toast and butter the toast. We also did the shapes for drawing process. On this day we also did Information Systems, which we learnt about companies departments, this included doing a report on the different departments within a company.
On Thursday 8th September, we did Data Communications, which we learnt about Networking Communications, which was about how to connect other computers to one printer or hub, this is called a LAN, which is a Local Area Network. The other was a WAN, which is a Wide Area Network, the biggest WAN is the internet. We also did Website Development; all we did on this was to how to format a document properly. Then for the last lesson of the week we did Games Design, we did in this we talked about Visual Styles, how the game looks, we also talked about how the game play works out etc. Then we also talked about different genres and types of games, for example The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a RPG, which is set in a fantasy world.
We had Friday off, which was a good relaxing lie in day :)
