21st - 24th November Week in College

Monday 21st November, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we did our blog for what we did in the last lesson of college. In this I told what lesson we had and what we actually did. Then we learnt about the barriers that are in communication, like the physical barriers for disabilities, emotional barriers for feelings etc. Then we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we just carried on with our games in programming. 

On Tuesday 22nd November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we just carried on with our assignments to get ideas and how much would it cost to build a office computer. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we learnt about the absolute cell reference, and then we put the command buttons in place to link the sheets, and to link the user form so people can actually use the form to add artists to the spreadsheet. At home I started on my Visual Basic games, in this I did Pong and I started on Brick Breaker. 

On Wednesday 23rd November, we had Paul for programming, in this lesson we carried on with Pong, the game that we where creating in visual basic, in this lesson I also finished on my Brick Breaker, and got it fully working, I just need to add a scoreboard to the game. Then we had Tom for Business, in this lesson we just carried on with task 3, which was the code of practice, and then the laws and acts for business. This is the lesson which I caught up with all of the work which was due in for Tom. 

On Thursday 24th November, we had Networking with Tom, in this lesson we had a huge PowerPoint, which was on electronic communication. In this we learnt about how many different mobile devices, including Infrared and Satellite communication. Then we had Waqas for Website Design, in this lesson we just carried on with our practice websites, which  where we had to see what Deamweaver is capable of. Then we had Paul for Games Design, in this lesson we had to finish off our Mood Boards, which are basically pictures and images for what our games are going to be like, we also finished off the overview of the game. Also we watched a DVD on getting into games. 

Last Week in College

On Monday 14th November, we had Tom for Communications, in this lesson we had to do our blog which included all of the things that we did in the week before. Also we had to carry on with Lucy's story, this is where we had to analyse the communication that was in Lucy's story. Also we had Paul for Programming,, in this lesson we learnt about how to put a ball into VB, also we talked about how to improve our games, this just gave us more time to make the game better.

On Tuesday 15th November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we started our new assignment, which was task 5. In this task we learnt how to build the computer and what to buy for the computer for an office user. I just carried on with task 4. Also we had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we just did our user form, for the assignment. In this we learnt about the coding in Excel.

On Wednesday 16th November, we had Paul for programming, in this lesson we learnt how to make an object move, using the keys. I already knew this, so I just carried on making a new game, which was Space Invaders. This is one of my favorite lessons on this course. Then we had Tom for Business, in this lesson we did task three, which was the laws/acts and the code of conduct. In this lesson I just carried on with my task 2 then I started to do task 3. Business is the one I hate the most, this is why I left my last college due to business.

On Thursday 17th November, we had Tom for Networking, in this lesson we learnt about the electronic methods for communication. Also we had to finish any work that we had left over from the previous tasks. Then was had Waqas for Website Design, in this lesson we didn't do anything for the lesson. this is because we had to move rooms. and the room that we was in didn't have Dreanweaver, so we just carried on with our Mood Board's for Games Design. Then we had Games Design with Paul, this lesson got moved forward because it is much easier to have the lesson straight after lunch. In this lesson we just finished off our Mood Board's. 

7th - 10th November Week in College

On the 7th November, we had Tom for Communications, in this lesson we did the blog explaining what we did in the week before last. I also did What Employers Want and finished that, I also started my Lucy's Story. Then we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson I just finished off my Pong game in Visual Basic.

On Tuesday 8th November, I had Waqas for Hardware, in this we learnt about how to make the computer and also how much it would cost to make an Office User computer. This was part of our main assignment for Computer Systems. We then had Tom for Spreadsheets, in this lesson we learnt how to make a user form, in this lesson we learnt how to use the coding inside Excel.

On Wednesday 9th November, we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we had a sort of test to see if we can remember/listen to the input that Paul has given to us over the weeks. We also made a converter to convert money into over currency. We then had Tom for Business, in this lesson we had to carry on with our work that we was behind on, I had to finish off task 1 and task 2.

On Thursday 10th November, we had Tom for Networking, in this lesson we learnt about the electronic methods of communication, I also had to finish off some work from the previous lesson, which was Services provided and  telecommunications etc. We also had Waqas for Website Production, in this lesson we learnt about Dreamweaver, in this we created a small website which we did on whatever we wanted to do. We didn't have Paul for Games Design, so we could go home.

Last Week in College

Monday 31st October, we had Tom for Comms, in this lesson we did our Blog, then we caught up on work, doing What Employers Want. Then we had Paul for Programming, this is where we learnt more about Event Driven Languages, for our task for Programming. We learnt about the loops and event handlers in the Event Driven Programming.

On Tuesday 1st November, we had Waqas for Hardware, in this lesson we carried on with our assignments, which in I finished task 1 and started on task 2. Then we had Tom for Spreadsheets, this is the lesson we started our assignment. In this lesson we learnt about conditional formatting and then we did nested if functions to find out about the artists downloads.

On Wednesday 2nd November, we had Paul for Programming, in this lesson we learnt how to move a ball within a programme, this was basically the game Pong in the early days of games development. In Paul's lesson we also learnt how to do a random number generator, this is where the ball, if it hits any part of the barriers, then it will allow the ball to bounce in a random order, so the ball isn't predictable. We had Tom for Business, in this lesson we had to catch up on work, this is where I finished my D1, the improvements to KFSC, and finishing off task one.

On Thursday 3rd November, we had Tom for Networking, in this lesson we learnt about what services providing the networking, also we did our Bluetooth in the lesson, this is where we had to connect our phones to a Bluetooth device on the computer, this allowed us to transfer files to and from the computer and phone devices. We also had Waqas for Website, in this lesson we just carried on with our assignments. In Games Design, we had to do our Mood Maps for our Game Design, this is where we had to find different ideas for our game.
